Old Karters re-united at the Tasmanian Masters

Sunday October 1st had some weary eyed old guys up early at the Launceston Kart Club's Southern Cross Archerville Kartway. The Saturday night before some old hands got together in the kart club rooms for a free dinner put on by the LKC. The next morning some were showing the wears of a late night prior plus the loss of an hours sleep as Tasmania headed the country, beginning day light savings.

With over 80 entries from, 30 years of age and up, competed in what could only be described as some of the most splendid spring weather available. Borrowed karts were the order of the day when some of the "has beens" returned to the track to prove that they could still turn a wheel (and some hadn't forgotten). Role reversals were interesting when some of the local young guns gave up their beloved karts for roles like running the control tower, grid and weigh in marshals, and of course pit crew for dad and also some mums.

Spirit and intent returned and sheep stations weren't up for grabs, the occasional off generally had the "victims" conversing about their hair colour or lack of it rather than who's fault it was whilst behind the safety barrier.
