Universal Joint/Archers Manor Senior National Feature

From minute one the weekend was as eventful as ever, even practice!!

During the juniors practice session on Saturday young Jackson Evans was launched over the back wheel of fellow competitor Jeff Anderson landing on his nose cone. Jackson came out unscathed but Jeff was sent to hospital with what people thought was a broken big toe on the gas foot. Luckily it was only a minor fracture and Jeff was back on Sunday to race.

With heavy rain overnight, wet tyres were very popular Sunday morning. In the slippery conditions the bottom corner became a popular parking spot for many drivers, but close racing was not scarce.

Johnathon Males put in an impressive drive in the Senior National Heavy Feature. After dicing the entire race with rival Aiden Shelton, Johnathon was able to hold of Aiden and meet the chequered flag first.

The Senior National Light Feature was to show a very tactful drive by Daimon Shelton. Sitting on his brother Aiden’s shunt bar the whole race and at the same time holding off talented Hobart driver Matty Holmes he was able to pass his brother on the last lap to take the win.

The junior races did not disappoint either. Even with some bad luck earlier in the day in blowing up his clubman engine, Jackson Evans gave a stunning performance winning both Junior National Light and Junior Clubman in which he used a borrowed engine of Sam Crack who finished second.

But Sam was not finished yet, breaking away from the field and managing a gap the size of the back straight to take an easy win in Junior National Heavy.

Adrian Harper had a fantastic weekend winning TAG 100 from Jamie Bricknell and Aiden Shelton; and in a very close finish with Nathan Zuj also took out Sportsman Light.

This weekend (9th & 10th September) Jamie Bricknell will be representing Tasmania in the National Yamaha Series held in Sydney. The winner of this event will win a chance to represent Australia in Japan. With his father and Aiden Shelton by his side we wish him all the best J
