7 November
press release
The ever improving Sam Crack of
Launceston Kart Club had a very special crew member during last weekend's Bartercard Sportsman’s Cup and Junior Clubman feature. Mark
Webber took some time out from his busy agenda with the Mark
Webber Pure
Webber spent time with Crack, who has won both Tasmanian Closed Titles this year in Junior National Heavy and Junior Clubman, who was competing to win back-to-back the Tasmanian Junior Clubman Feature having won last year's title in Hobart.

Webber assisted Crack on the grid and watched his practice sessions before spending time with other Junior, Rookie and Midget drivers for a group photo in the clubrooms. This was followed by an autograph session.
Sundays racing started out in wet conditions where Crack won both classes early heats. Later in the day in the Junior Clubman pre-final he started pole but lost a chain 7 laps in while enjoying a comfortable lead. Starting back in the final, he came through to swap the lead with Mitchel Evans and Waylon Sims. These fourteen and fifteen year olds put on a fantastic spectacle as they constantly swapped positions before a last lap incident between Sims and Evans allowed Crack through beating Sims with Luke Sapwell third.
The Launceston Kart Club is home of the 2007 Tasmanian State Titles and the 2008 AKA Nationals.
