7. Minimum Entries:

The minimum starters in each class will be 14 genuine entries. If less than 14 genuine entries received, drivers entered for the class will be notified AS= AP and entry fee returned. (Rule 20.12d)

(As per = rule 19.17) Fastest time recorded to grid 1 and so on for heats 1 & 2.<= /o:p>

Two (2) heats &= nbsp; To be run over 10 laps

&= nbsp; &nbs= p; &= nbsp; Heats 1 & 2 – fastest qualifier to grid 1 and so on

One (1) Pre Final To be run over 15 laps

One (1) Final &= nbsp; To be run over 21 laps

&= nbsp; &nbs= p; &= nbsp; Non-finishers in the pre final will be grided at the rear of field in order of the laps completed, then grid position from pre final.

Oversubscribed Classes – Format of racing<= o:p>

(1) &= nbsp; Timed Qualifying – = 2 x 4 minute qualifying sessions (as per rule 19.17), timing to start when 1^=
st kart crosses timing loop.

(2) &= nbsp; Separate into 2 equal gro= ups (or 3 if required), (up to track capacity) in race number order – (lo= west to highest) for 1^st qualifying session for each group.

(3) &= nbsp; 2^nd Qualifying session in reverse order (highest to lowest) for each group.

(4) &= nbsp; Best time from two timed qualifying sessions to = be used to sort into quali= fying order.

(5) &= nbsp; After qualifying, drivers= will be split into 4 groups, A, B, C, or D. Fastest qualifier to group A, 2^=
nd fastest to group B, 3^rd fastest to group C, 4^th faste= st to group D, 5^th fastest to group A, 6^th fastest to gr= oup B, etc until all drivers are allocated a group. Each group will race against each = other group over three heats. Faste= st qualifier (A group) will race from pole position in the 3 heats, 2^{nd
fastest qualifier (1^st in B group) will race from pole position =
in 2
heats, 3^rd fastest qualifier (1^st in C group) will ra=

1.&n= bsp; Heat 1a - Group A v D (gr= id as per qualifying order, A’s grids 1, 3, 5, 7, etc, D’s grids 2, 4= , 6, 8, etc) to be run over 10 laps.

2.&n= bsp; Heat 1b – Group B v= C (grid as per qualifying order, B’s grids 1, 3, 5, 7, etc, C’s g= rids 2, 4, 6, 8, etc) to be run over 10 laps.

3.&n= bsp; Heat 2a – Group A v= C (grid as per qualifying order, A’s grids 1, 3, 5, 7, etc, C’s g= rids 2, 4, 6, 8, etc) to be run over 10 laps.

4.&n= bsp; Heat 2b - Group B v D (gr= id as per qualifying order, B’s grids 1, 3, 5, 7, etc, D’s grids 2, 4= , 6, 8, etc) to be run over 10 laps.

5.&n= bsp; Heat 3a – Group A v= B (grid as per qualifying order, A’s grids 1, 3, 5, 7, etc, B’s g= rids 2, 4, 6, 8, etc) to be run over 10 laps.

6.&n= bsp; Heat 3b – Group D v= C (grid as per qualifying order, D’s grids 1, 3, 5, 7, etc, C’s g= rids 2, 4, 6, 8, etc) to be run over 10 laps.

(6)&= nbsp; Each Driver will race aga= inst each other driver over 3 heats, points are allocated as 0 points for 1^=
st, 2 points for 2^nd, 3 points for 3^rd etc. Non finishers to be allocated poin= ts based on their position at the last completed lap. Drivers not completing 1 lap will = be allocated a position based on order of crossing the electronic timing loop after race start. Non starter= s to be allocated points in qualifying order behind all starters.

Grid positions for Final are based = on the points gained during the 3 Heats. Driver with the lowest points to grid 1, next to grid 2 and so on up= to track capacity, compete in the Final. Drivers with equal points up to track capacity, grid positions will = be determined by best qualifying time.

(7) &= nbsp; Final only counts, to be = run over 21 laps.

(8) &= nbsp; All competitors must regi= ster a qualifying time and compete in 2 heats to be eligible for a grid position in the Final

Drivers excluded during qualifying will be allocated the slowest time plus 1 second or as determined by the officials.

Drivers disqualified during any race will be allocated pe= nalties as determined by the officials.

PRESENTATION OF TROPHI= ES will be held at the track:

Trophies for 1^st, 2^nd, 3rd in all classes will be presented af= ter each final (this is provisional ONLY). The presentation of all classes 1st to 5^th place and fastest qualifier will be presented at the trac= k on completion of all Finals and official requirements Rule 11.10.

Green number plates will be awarded to 1^st place position only.

A listing of provisional winners will be posted at the completion of each fin= al.

10. Mechanical breakdown lane will not be in use.

11. Kart Retrieval

Pit Crew with trolleys will NOT be given access to the circuit during qualifying and racing.

12. Blue & Red Flag:

The blue and red double diagonal flag as detailed in Rule 15.13 will be used throughout this meeting. .

13. Abandonment or Postponement:

The Organisers reserve the right at their sole discretion to abandon, postpone,= or cancel any event(s), subject to R19.02, R11.09.

14. Insurance:

Has been affected for this Meeting in accordance with Chapter 3.of the 2008 AKA Manual

From Friday 21^st March 2008 all nominated pit crew entering the ‘In-Grid or Out-Grid’ must have on display at all times their 2008 Pit Crew = Photo ID as per 11.06

Entry to the In-Grid or Out-Grid will be denied if corre= ct pass is not produced.

15. Noise Levels:

Maximum Noise levels shall be in accordance with Chapter 24. The nominated judge of fact for noise measurement levels shall be Neil Richardson

16. Fuel:

Competitors attention is drawn to chapt= er 22 Rule 22.01 7 & 9 of the AKA Karting Manual.

The following controlled fuel requirements will be in place for this meeting.

a.       The only fuel to be used at this meeting is Premium Unleaded Petrol 98 Octane BP Ultimate purchased from BP Invermay, 32 Invermay Road, Launceston= and MUST be used from Friday 21^st March to Sunday 23rd March inclusive.

b.      Fuel will be available= for purchase from Wednesday 19/3/2008 to Sunday 23/3/2008 INCLUSIVE.

c.   Random samples of competitor’s fuel will be taken during the course of the meeting and tested for conformity with samples taken from this supplier on these dates.=

c.   Competitors are reminded that= fuel tank and drums should be empty prior to being used for fuel purchased for u= se at this meeting.

18. Racing Numbers:

A maximum of two (2) digits, with numbers allocated by organisers using numbe= rs as received where possible. Number Plates as per Rule 25.13.    Sidepod numbers must be clearly visible.

Number 1 will be reserved for National Champions in each class.<= /p>
The Race Secretary reserves the right to allocate / change race numbers at the event as per rule 19.28.

The Race Secretary’s decision in this matter will be final.

19. Pit Spaces:

Spaces are available in the Pit / Paddock area and bookings are essential. Bookings may be made by returning the attached Pit Allocation Form with Entry Form. =

The pit space size per entry is 3m x 3m. Trailer pitting will be available. For teams wishing to erect marquees it is necessary to indicate your requiremen= ts early so as sufficient space will= be made available. Please contact Trevor Parker. Details on Pit allocation for= m.

20. Timing:

a)      Timing will be underta= ken with the AMB TRANX 160 Transponder Timing System.            =

b)      Transponder holders mu= st be used on all karts. The transponder holder must be mounted on the left hand = side pod 300mm from the kingpin. It is the responsibility of all drivers to ensu= re that they are equipped with their transponder before each race. =

Transponder holders will be available for purcha= se from the Race Secretary Office for a fee of $10.00

c)   Drivers using personal transponders (AMB TranX 160 or AMB TranX 260) to register the transponder (7 digit number) on race entry f= orm and confirm at race entry confirmation.&nbs= p;

21. Engine Sealing:

Please ensure that all engines have the appropriate sealing nuts as per Rule 19.33= and 20.20

22. Tyre Pooling:

Tyre pooling will occur at this meeting as per rule 23.11. Tyres will be availab= le at the designated times. It is the drivers responsibility to collect his/her tyres between the stated times. All tyres will be marked with a unique ID. = Any deterioration to the control markings on the tyres, after fitting tyres, mu= st be reported to the scrutineer immediately for rectification. Damaged or worn tyres (by way of force majeure) must be reported to and be inspected by the Chief Scrutineer prior to the kart leaving the grid/impound area, replacement(s) will be at the competitors cost. Drivers receiving replacement(s) will be required to = start at the rear of the grid in the next heat / final of that event as per Rule 23.11.

NB. All competitors to supply their own wet weather tyres and must present them= for marking to the nominated area when directed.

23. Vehicle/ trailer access:

No vehicles (excluding transporters and trailers) will be permitted in the Pit area during racing.

Limited trade areas will be made available to Traders on application at the discret= ion/ approval of the Organisers.

24. Security:

Security will be provided from Monday 17^th March to Sunday 23^rd March 2008. Security will be on site from 8.00pm to 6.00am.

25. Camping and Pets:

Camping is not permitted. Animals are= not allowed, excluding guide dogs for the vision impaired.

26. Pit Area Con= trols:

No smoking or welding allowed in the pit areas.

No dumping of Fuel on site.

No dumping of tyres on site.

Scooters, skateboards and pushbikes not allowed in pit area or on the grid. (Disabled excluded)

No motorised scoote= rs allowed at the track. (Disabled excluded)
